Climate change, dams and disease: the effect of temperature-dependent myxozoan parasite T. bryosalmonae on brown trout
Project aims
- Determine the distribution and prevalence of Tetracapsuloides bryosalmonae in Sweden
- Quantify combined impact of Proliferative Kidney Disease (PKD) and increasing water temperature on brown trout recruitment using long - term national fish monitoring data
- Evaluate the role of dams as barriers to Tb spread and/or catalysts for PKD severity
- Apply and evaluate eDNA approaches to better understand Tb infectivity, distribution, and life - cycle.
